The Wizard of Oz (Paperback) - Puffin Classics   L. Frank Baum (1856-1919) born in Chittenango, New York State

It’s a great joy to read a classic novel because there are beautiful stories. =) 'The Wizard of Oz' was written by L. Frank Baum in 1900. (Wow 106 years ago!) Baum also wrote another thirteen books about Oz. Oz is the wonderful land with magic and fantasy. There are Wizard, wicked Witch, Munchkins, wild beasts, winged monkeys, Winkies in the Oz. It is one of the best-known stories in American popular culture and has been widely translated. (also Korean)

I have a little memory about the TV animation 'The wizard of Oz' in my childhood. In my memory, characters of TV animation series are so cute and they show the good friendship. But I have no idea about the end of the story. I wonder what happened to Dorothy and her friends at the last. I could find full stories of 'Wizard of the Oz' in this book.

I recommend this book to everyone who want to bring back their memories about Dorothy and her friends. This book has wonderful stories with profusely illustrated. That's so goooooood!

    그나저나 성식이 잉글리시는 눈에 쏙쏙 들어오는구나...
    영어도 산지가 중요한가? -_-;

    암튼 예전에 어디서 주워들었던 동화 '오즈의 마법사'의 정치적 풍자에 이야기가 생각 나는구나...
    내용은 생각이 안난다... ㅎㅎ

      네 저도 라디오에서 얼핏 들은적이 있어요~

      허수아비 -> 실속없는 지식인을 상징
      양철 나무꾼 -> 인권을 보호 받지 못하는 공장 노동자를 상징
      사자 -> 실천력없는 정치인을 상징

      아무튼 모두가 힘을 모아 원하는 것을 얻어낸다는 아메리칸 환타지 소설?!

      ps : 간만에 영어 소설 하나 읽었더니 웬지 리뷰를 영어로 남기고 싶었어요;;; 덕분에 하고 싶은 말은 다 못썼네요 ㅋㅋ

    I have the God Father.
    It is hardest novel ever I have read.
    So, I Can't read this.

      Ohh;;;; God Father...
      I think that it's a kind of defficult novel.
      But, 'The wizard of Oz' is easy to read.
      I recommend it. =)

      If you want to read this book, I can borrow it willingly.

      제가 직접 쓴글이라서 해석해드리는건 어렵지 않은데.. 한번 잘 보세요.. 쉬운 영어로 되어 있습니다. 사실 문법이나 이런게 틀렸을 수도 있고요 ^^;;;;;;
